How To Know When It's Time To Write Your Book

3 Signs It's Time To Write Your Book

Have you ever felt that tug of inspiration to write a book? I firmly believe it's a strong motivator, and if you have a message or story to tell, sharing it with the world can be one of the most rewarding things you do in your life. But how do you know when it's time to dive in and start writing?

Start building your email as you write your book.

1. When you keep feeling a tug inside of you

The question of when to write your book is often a loaded one. It’s a question that can keep you up at night, and it can leave you feeling unsettled.

When I was in the throes of writing my first book, I found myself talking about it to anyone who would listen. I would go on and on about what I was writing and how little sleep I was getting because of it. This is an example of your idea leaving you feeling unsettled as if something is missing.

You will know when it is time to write your book when you keep feeling a tug inside of you as if there is something more for you to do. When this happens, you will know it’s time for you to write.

2. If you're a coach, business owner, or entrepreneur, you may have thought about writing a book to position yourself as an expert in your field. But how do you know if it's time to start writing?

Here are ways of knowing that you're ready to get started:

  • You have a framework that works for your clients.

For example, if you're a business coach, you probably have a method or strategy that helps your clients achieve success. Writing about that framework is one way to create a book. You can help readers solve a problem or achieve something by outlining your approach in detail.

  • You can create a workbook.

A book can be more than just text on the page. If you have exercises and tools that help your clients make progress, then consider creating a workbook or activity guide. You'll outline key concepts and strategies and provide exercises and activities that will help people implement what they've learned.

3. This is an important one for me because I'm all about inspiration. If you have a fantastic story to tell, you can inspire others and help them learn from your experiences.

If you want people to take action based on your book, it's important to share more than just the facts of what happened. You want to share why things happened and the lessons you learned.

To do that, you need to give them some context around your story — how things were for you before this particular event took place. What was going on in your life? What was happening with your business? What were the circumstances that led up to this event? Why did it matter? How did it change you?

The more context you give, the better they'll be able to relate to your experience and take action.

First, think about the kind of book you'd like to write and why. If your motivation is to make an impact on the world, then it may be time to start writing your first book. Second, never underestimate your ability to manifest your dream book.

Your book can also help you build credibility and trust as a thought leader in your field. I have often found that people are more inclined to buy products or services from someone they respect, so writing a book can open up opportunities for you to earn more income both in your business and personally. This is why I encourage my clients to write and publish their books because I know that once they do so, they will enjoy greater success in all aspects of their lives.
